Getting Ready for the First Day of School!!

Presley and Rachael her little friend next door!!!

We started a little tradition with Presley's friend Rachael and her Mom. We take the girls on the Sunday before school starts and let them get their nails and toes done. They are allowed to pick whatever color they want (which is a little scary for Mom!!) and they are also allowed to get a little design on their nails!!! This is so much fun and the girls really enjoy it. Presley picked bright green for her nails and bright purple for her toes!!! I do mean BRIGHT!!! She got a little flower on her toes just like her Mom!!(I knew that I would pay for that one eventually!!!) and flowers on her nails as well. I love to watch the girls have this done they look so big and they think that it is the neatest thing to go to school with their nail all done!! I have a feeling we will be doing this until college!!

Big Canoe Summer Trip 2010.....

What can I say about Big Canoe.....Not enough that is for sure!!! We go to Big Canoe every year before school starts. Kind of like a last minute fun trip to say farewell to Summer. My kids love it hear so much and so do Tom and I. Every year my parents join us for the fun. This is something that has turned into a summer tradition for us and I am so glad that it has. This year was the first year that Presley and I both went down the rock slide and that was the most fun I have ever had. It is one of those things that once you do it you can't stop!!! Then we always go paddle boating and take a canoe ride!! This was Camden's first year at Big Canoe and he loved it as well. He loved the play ground and the paddle boats and of course all of my kids love the water so the pool and the lake are always a big hit. Camden is not a big fan of the sand so he and Mommy stayed at the pool most of the time. I will just let the pictures speak for themselves in everyone you can tell that the kids are having a blast. It is times like this you wish you could just bottle them up at this age. I know that one day it will not be as cool to hang out with Mom and Dad and giggle at the pool but for now I am soaking this all up and loving every moment I can spend with them just being silly and having fun!!! I look forward to many more fun Summer trips to Big Canoe it is where some of our best family memories are made!!!!

Fourth of July FUN!!

This little one couldn't look more like DADDY!!!

This year for the Fouth of July we went to Aunt Lori's pool and swam all day and had a cookout with our Family. The night before Tom took the kids to Gwinnett Braves Game and they had the best firework show at the End of the game. So needless to say we weren't exactly planning on going to go and see fireworks again but somehow we did end up at Chateau Elan watching them!!! I wasn't really sure how Camden would like them but he did enjoy them. He stayed in the car and watched most of them but he didn't scream and cry like I thought he would. Grandma Heaton (also known as heat heat by Camden) came along for all of the fun. It was a great night and I don't care how old you get watching fireworks never gets old!!! It is always so much fun!!! I am glad that we decided to watch them for a second time!!!

Presley's Play Ball Camp

This year was the first year that Presley went to a Summer Camp. Needless to say she LOVED it!! It is a camp called Play Ball and some of her closest friends were there with her. They played things like basket ball, volley ball, and lots of fun outside games. This was really up Presley's ally and I have a feeling that she will want to do this again for years to come. It is so nice to have a place that you trust to send your kids for some summer fun. These are the kind of memories that she is going to make with her friends that will last a life time!!!

Memorial Day Parade

Take a close look at the picture.... My Dad and Carsen are making the same face!!! He really is just like his Granddaddy!!!

We LOVE to go the Memorial Day Parade that our Church puts on for the community. The kids love to see all of the tractors, old cars, and of course the whole reason we celebrate this day the Soldiers!!! I can't go to this event without thinking of my Papa!! We was so proud to serve is country and he loved events like this so much. It is a great reminder to me of how proud the men and women who serve our country are of what they do. It is also a great reminder of how Thankful I am that we have such wonderful men and women who are willing to do this for us. This event is so important to my family because it is a way to teach my kids that their freedom was bought with a price not only from their Savior Jesus but from men and women who risk their lives everyday. This is one of those traditions that I hold very dear to my heart (as you can tell!) My only wish is that my Papa was here to share this special day with my kids!!! Even though that is not possible his wonderful memory will always live on in the stories that I tell them. Thank you Papa for being a man who was willing to fight for not only my freedom but the freedom of my kids!!! We love and miss you very much!!!
